The Glyptotek houses extensive Egyptian and Roman collections, among other things. soSouvenir was commissioned to reproduce an Egyptian papyrus and a Roman palmette as pendants so as to contribute to their popularisation in the museum shop. We have designed them so that they can be used on necklaces, as ear decorations or as armbands. This flexible solution means several different articles on the shelves for a limited expenditure.
The collection of jewellery has been developed in close collaboration with the shop manager and the Glyptotek’s collective consciousness. This seems to be an appropriate description that covers the various people responsible for information, PR and marketing that are to be found in all organisations, and which we always need in our work. When the collective consciousness is in full swing, then the possibilities of designing attractive products which are both informative and increase the value of the brand, are enormous.
